Overview
Intelligence covers reasoning, analysis, research, and the organization of information. It contributes when the character can examine evidence, recall relevant knowledge, and build a considered explanation. Skills such as Academics or Science supply specialized knowledge; Intelligence supplies the capacity to work with it.
Using the ratings
The examples below are original illustrations of relative capability, not automatic successes or new Difficulty rules. The pool, opposition, equipment, and circumstances still matter.
Ratings

| 1 dot | Follow a straightforward explanation using familiar concepts. |
| 2 dots | Compare common alternatives and recognize basic limitations. |
| 3 dots | Connect several clues into a useful working theory. |
| 4 dots | Analyze a difficult problem that requires several stages of reasoning. |
| 5 dots | Develop insights into problems that defeat highly capable peers. |
