Award XP, spend it through supported purchases, and understand what remains separate for each Chronicle.

Find the right XP ledger

Open the accepted character in the Chronicle where play occurred, then its XP tab. The available balance and dated entries belong to that server copy. An independent base has no Chronicle XP ledger.

First acceptance can grant Chronicle starting XP and the selected package's XP when enabled. A transfer does not award the package again. Future awards, purchases, and optional shared progression are recorded in history.

Award XP as authorized staff

Open the character's XP tab → Award XP, or use /award-xp with the sheet slug, amount, and reason.
Enter a positive award and explain what it is for. Chronicle award limits apply.
Save and check the updated balance and transaction entry.

Spend XP from the sheet

Open Spend XP on an accepted character, or open its permitted editor in XP accounting mode.
Choose a supported Attribute or Skill increase. The XP mode keeps the same tabbed interface and displays its calculation.
Save the purchase. Server checks verify permission, the current rating, available XP, and Chronicle rules before committing it.
Review the new rating and XP ledger. Raising several dots charges the successive increases, rather than only the final step.

Chronicles can allow players to advance their own characters directly; this is disabled by default. Otherwise an authorized staff member applies the advancement. The Attribute/Skill advancement service uses the stored traits and the Chronicle’s configured prices. Unsupported purchases produce an error instead of being saved without a cost.

Initial versus XP

Initial tracks the creation distribution and allowances. XP calculates advancement beyond the current sheet. Switching modes does not award XP, approve a character, grant access to a Chronicle, or turn an unsupported entry into a free purchase.

The shared XP editor currently saves supported Attribute and Skill purchases. Changes to Identity fields, repeatable Advantage rows, and supernatural selections are not general XP purchases in that editor. Use the supported specific command or a reviewed sheet-change proposal.

Corrections and shared history

Do not lower a rating in XP mode to obtain a refund; that workflow rejects downward purchases. Ask staff to review corrections through the appropriate sheet-change process.

Sharing awards or advancement with another Chronicle requires both current server owners' agreement. Earlier history is imported only through a separate preview and confirmation when both owners allow it.
