Update your own trackers
- Use /trackers and select your Chronicle character, or open Update trackers from the sheet.
- To view only, choose the character without submitting a change.
- To change a value, select a permitted tracker, enter its new value, and give a reason.
- Submit and check the resulting value. Enter the new total, not a change amount, unless the specific form explicitly asks for an amount.
Players can update their own trackers by default. A Chronicle can disable player editing overall or make an individual tracker staff-only. Staff tracker permission does not grant permission to change every part of a character.
Health and Willpower distinguish superficial and aggravated damage. The total must fit the current track capacity. Permanent purchased ratings should be changed through creation or advancement, not disguised as a resource edit.
Back to top ↑Which values can appear
- Health and Willpower damage and capacity.
- Humanity, Stains and Hunger where appropriate.
- Rage, Harano and Hauglosk for Werewolves.
- Other enabled sheet-backed values, including a selected published Background rating.
- Chronicle-specific counters with their own capacity and starting value.
A zero-rated dotted stat uses unfilled dots. Trackers are stored on the played Chronicle character, so another server's copy can have different resource values.
Back to top ↑Customize trackers as staff
- Open Chronicle settings → Running the game → Play & automation → Customize Chronicle trackers.
- For a built-in tracker, adjust its label, display order, visibility, and whether the character owner can edit it.
- For a new tracker, choose a stable key and readable label. Choose Value to display: a sheet-backed value or an independent counter.
- For an independent counter, set its maximum, initial value, ordering, and owner-edit permission. Save the definition.
- Open an accepted character's tracker page to check the resulting display.
A stable key identifies the tracker; the display label is the wording players see. Choose keys deliberately and use a different key for a different resource.
Back to top ↑Resources rating versus Resources spending
To show a character's purchased Resources Background, choose that Background in Value to display. It follows the sheet rating and is read-only in the tracker editor; if multiple matching Background records exist, the display uses the highest rating.
To track a separate pool spent during play, create an independent counter with a label such as Resources spending. Its changes do not buy, sell, or reduce the Background rating. The Chronicle can display both.
Back to top ↑Automatic changes and conflicts
Linked dice and supported play procedures update trackers within the same recorded action. Rerolling a saved result does not require manually spending Willpower again when the linked workflow already charged it.
A stale-value warning means something changed after the form opened. Reload, inspect the current tracker and recent action, then decide whether another change is needed. Every accepted edit records the actor, reason, and before/after values.
