Ventrue

Only a defined preference of mortal blood can be fed on without extra effort.

Overview

Dominate, Fortitude, and Presence provide command, endurance, and social influence. A precise feeding preference makes access to suitable mortals a recurring concern. Arrogance demands freely given obedience, so supernatural control cannot by itself resolve every leadership problem.

Disciplines

Dominate

Supernatural interference with another person’s thoughts and actions.

Fortitude

Resistance to harm and coercion beyond ordinary endurance.

Presence

Supernatural influence over attention and emotion.

Bane

Ventrue Bane

Only a defined preference of mortal blood can be fed on without extra effort.

The character has a specific feeding preference. Feeding outside it requires spending Willpower equal to Bane Severity; otherwise the blood is vomited back up. Identifying whether a mortal meets the preference uses Resolve + Awareness at Difficulty 4 or higher.

Compulsion

Arrogance

Actions that do not involve leadership lose 2 dice. The compulsion ends when someone voluntarily follows the vampire’s command. Compliance produced by supernatural control, including Dominate, does not satisfy it.

Clan-specific Loresheets

  • Descendant of Hardestadt

    Hardestadt’s descendants inherit political expectations and the weight of his reputation. Recognition can offer authority while making the character a target.
