Lasombra

Reflections, recordings, and modern devices respond abnormally to the vampire.

Overview

Dominate and Potence give direct ways to impose a decision, while Oblivion adds supernatural options. Ordinary surveillance and communications can still obstruct the character. Ruthlessness makes a failed attempt hard to abandon, creating a practical conflict between proving competence and changing plans.

Dominate

Supernatural interference with another person’s thoughts and actions.

Oblivion

Powers concerned with supernatural darkness and the dead.

Potence

Physical force amplified by vitae.

Bane

Reflections, recordings, and modern devices respond abnormally to the vampire.

A distorted image in a mirror or recording may reveal that something is wrong to someone who knows what to look for. It does not guarantee anonymity. To operate modern communications equipment, test Technology; set the Difficulty to Bane Severity + 2. Subtract Bane Severity dice when evading electronic vampire-detection systems.

Compulsion

Ruthlessness

The next failed action imposes a 2-die penalty on all rolls, including retries. The penalty ends after a successful later attempt at that same action, or at the end of the scene.
