Create a character

Use Guided or Unguided creation, choose a package, and fill the seven sheet tabs.

Checked against the live application · 2026-09-20

Start with game, type, and Chronicle

  1. Sign in and open Characters → Create character.
  2. Choose Game first. Vampire supports Mortal, Ghoul, and Vampire sheets. Werewolf supports Mortal and Werewolf sheets.
  3. Enter the character name. Choose No Chronicle- Independent Character, or a server by name. Only your setup-complete servers are offered.
  4. Choose Guided for a sequence of questions or Unguided to work directly in the tabbed sheet. Select Begin character.

An enabled Chronicle creation method overrides the default order, Attribute allocation, Skill distributions, and player instructions for that character type. A draft remains a base character until a submission is accepted.

Guided mode

  1. Answer the question on screen, then select Save & continue. Related decisions, such as Ambition and Desire, can share a page.
  2. For Attributes and Skills, assign the requested rating groups. Already allocated choices are unavailable in later groups. The remaining one-dot Attribute is filled automatically.
  3. Review the proposed Attribute or Skill distribution and select Apply allocation & continue to write it to the sheet.
  4. Use Back or Return to a question to revisit an answer. Revising an earlier allocation group clears later staged choices, so review the complete allocation again.
  5. Use Save for later to preserve a valid answer without advancing. Enter Unguided mode retains saved choices, but leaves the unanswered question.

The sheet tabs in Guided mode open the saved sheet for inspection. A question counter indicates where you are in creation; it is not an approval indicator.

Unguided mode and Initial accounting

The same seven tabs remain available while you work. Select Initial to build against creation allowances. Attribute and Skill choices track rating slots rather than accepting an arbitrary total of dots. Specialty, Advantage, Flaw, and supported supernatural allowances are checked when saving.

The Initial / XP switch changes accounting, not the sheet layout. XP estimates do not give an independent draft a spendable server ledger. Actual XP purchases require an accepted Chronicle copy and permission to advance it.

  1. Choose the explicit creation package offered for your character.
  2. Make changes within the current tab. Skills keep their specialty controls beside the relevant Skill.
  3. Use Add another for repeatable records such as Advantages, possessions, and supported supernatural selections.
  4. Select Save for the tab or section. A dot change or newly added row is not saved merely because it appears on screen.

Vampire creation choices

The creation interface supports Generations 11–16; packages and Chronicle restrictions can narrow these choices. Starting Blood Potency is capped at 2, and a Thin-Blood Generation uses Blood Potency 0. Zero-rated dotted stats appear as empty dots.

For the normal starting Discipline allocation, select different Disciplines for the two-dot and one-dot choices. At the second acquisition, select an eligible level-two power or another level-one power. Predator Type Discipline options appear in the same allocation interface, and a power already selected there cannot be taken again.

Use the Codex links to check individual requirements and exceptions. Caitiff and Thin-Bloods have their own treatment; do not assume a normal Clan's starting allocation applies to every Vampire.

Packages and completion

Packages and completion
PackageTracked adjustments
StandardNo age-package adjustments.
Vampire Neonate15 starting XP on first admission when the Chronicle allows package XP; creation uses Generations 12–13.
Vampire AncillaTwo additional Advantage dots, two additional Flaw dots, one lower starting Humanity, and 35 starting XP when enabled; this creation interface uses Generation 11.

Extra Chronicle starting XP is configured separately. Package XP is awarded on first admission, not repeatedly on transfer. Health and Willpower support a tracker capacity of 20; that capacity is not a starting-dot allowance.
