Reusing a sleeping location too soon risks burning the vampire.

Overview

Animalism, Obfuscate, and Presence allow several ways to redirect attention or influence a situation. The sleeping restriction makes a network of resting places part of ongoing survival. Tempting Fate can turn a routine obstacle into a consequential risk, even when a safer solution is available.

Reusing a sleeping location too soon risks burning the vampire.

If the vampire sleeps somewhere used during the previous seven nights, roll a number of dice equal to Bane Severity; each 10 inflicts 1 aggravated damage. This also applies during torpor, with a fresh check each day the location is reused. By default, distinct sleeping locations must be at least a mile (about 1.6 km) apart. A mobile haven must likewise change its parking location by at least a mile (about 1.6 km). The No Haven Flaw cannot be taken at character creation.

Compulsion

For the next problem, approaches that are not the most daring or dangerous lose 2 dice. The Storyteller can reward a particularly bold approach with bonus dice. The compulsion ends when the problem is resolved or another attempt is no longer possible.
